Bart is an expert in his field. Currently based in Belgium, he travels the globe to deliver lectures, conduct educational events, and offer hands-on sessions. His work focuses on addressing seating and mobility issues, providing wheelchair equipment for children and adults with moderate to severe physical challenges, and tackling wound care-related challenges.
Bart’s dedication extends to various innovative projects. He has been an integral part of the AI and ISO standards in healthcare sessions, and he led a microclimate study on back supports. Alongside Filipe Correia, he has presented on head support interventions and developed a seating technology called EPiC. This groundbreaking invention is now used worldwide with excellent clinical outcomes. EPiC focuses on effortless postural control and variation, catering to users with both passive seating needs and tone challenges. It supports the pelvic-to-thigh angle while introducing thoracic segmentation, enabling easy seating and postural variation throughout the day.
Bart’s dedication to improving the lives of individuals with mobility impairments and his commitment to education and innovation in wheelchair seating and wound care have earned him this well-deserved recognition.
